MPD Friends

Welcome to MPD friends! I hope you will enjoy your stay.

I am not a professional in psychology, but I live with MPD every day. My partner who we shall call Snowflake, is a 26 year old male with MPD/DID. He has over 25 alters and developed MPD/DID as a result of severe sexual and emotional abuse at the hands of close relatives, from the age of 2 until he was 16.

There is a wealth of information available online on the topic of MPD/DID, but this page is from my perspective (as a partner or significant other -SO). I think that friends and family of a multiple need support too. Living with a multiple can be rewarding - but frustrating; funny - but heart-wrenching; loving - but sometimes despairing . We live in Ireland and here this condition is not recognised by the Irish medical profession, so treatment is practically non-existant. I would love to hear from anyone who can offer advise.
